Egg Tempera And Turning Over A New Leaf?

My neighbor, Linda, talked me into taking a class in Egg Tempera from a woman named Mary Jane Miller. As you can tell from the title of the blog entry, it created a huge upheaval in the way I am thinking about my art. I am pretty sure it was because it is so difficult and I enjoy a challenge. I researched the supplies and spent a ton of money in order to switch media. My first painting was ruined after about two and a half weeks (don't ask) and the second one already has posed a problem...because I applies the gold leaf wrong (don't ask about that either). If I am not careful, this month will go by with nothing to show for my time!

I will start posting my thoughts on this process because I need all of these thought stored in one place. This will be like my pensive (sort of like Professor Dumbledore's).

The Winds of Change

Oh, the month is almost over as well as the current show. It is so interesting how things can change so quickly. It has only been a single heartbeat, a blink of an eye, and the winds of change have swept into my life and the lives of others. I am hoping that things settle down a little before the next round of changes. On to bigger and better things.

Here is to change!

Wasted Time and All Things Neglected

I can't believe it has been more than six months since I have posted anything on my own blog. So much has been going on and yet there is always enough time for eating and watching movies. So, there will be an opening at the gallery tomorrow and I am going to take some photos. It is my mom's show and is called "Garden of Desire". It's also a couple of days before her birthday which I think we will celebrate during her opening.

More soon...
